Llevo 11 a\u00f1os en DREAM. De hecho, comenc\u00e9 como una de las primeras empleadas en 2003 (mi primer trabajo despu\u00e9s de la universidad) antes de reincorporarme a la organizaci\u00f3n en 2013, lo que significa que he podido observar y contribuir a la evoluci\u00f3n de este trabajo desde sus inicios.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En DREAM, somos plenamente conscientes de que nuestro trabajo no se desarrolla de forma aislada. Se enmarca en el contexto global, un mundo en el que nuestros estudiantes se desenvuelven a diario y en el que se enfrentan personalmente a problemas de desigualdad. Si bien esto siempre ha sido as\u00ed, las tensiones pol\u00edticas y sociales de los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os han hecho que nuestro trabajo con los j\u00f3venes y sus familias, as\u00ed como nuestras inversiones en diversidad, equidad e inclusi\u00f3n (DEI), sean m\u00e1s urgentes y trascendentales que nunca.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por ello, ahora m\u00e1s que nunca, nuestro compromiso organizacional con la DEI (Diversidad, Equidad e Inclusi\u00f3n), que se convirti\u00f3 en una iniciativa fundamental de nuestro plan estrat\u00e9gico en 2018, es parte inseparable de la esencia de DREAM. No se trata solo de una pr\u00e1ctica, ni de una prioridad, sino de un aspecto definitorio de qui\u00e9nes somos, a qui\u00e9nes aspiramos a ser y c\u00f3mo realizamos nuestro trabajo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wearedream.org\/es\/our-commitment-to-diversity-equity-inclusion\/\"><b>Por eso, hoy nos complace compartir p\u00fablicamente el plan de DEI (Diversidad, Equidad e Inclusi\u00f3n) de DREAM.<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Este plan se basa en tres \u00e1reas principales: garantizar la igualdad de oportunidades; fomentar y desarrollar un equipo diverso; y fortalecer la experiencia estudiantil. A continuaci\u00f3n, se presenta un adelanto, no exhaustivo, de algunos de los proyectos que ya est\u00e1n en marcha:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revisar y actualizar nuestras pr\u00e1cticas y pol\u00edticas orientadas al alumnado para garantizar que no perpet\u00faen el racismo ni la supremac\u00eda blanca.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Capacitaci\u00f3n continua contra el racismo para el personal, el liderazgo y nuestras juntas directivas que impulsa a los adultos de nuestra comunidad, independientemente de c\u00f3mo se identifiquen racialmente, a examinar c\u00f3mo se han visto afectados y beneficiados por el racismo.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Examinar nuestras pr\u00e1cticas de contrataci\u00f3n, retenci\u00f3n, compensaci\u00f3n y promoci\u00f3n, e incorporar la rendici\u00f3n de cuentas en materia de DEI (Diversidad, Equidad e Inclusi\u00f3n).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aumentar la diversidad de la Junta Directiva de nuestra organizaci\u00f3n para que refleje mejor las poblaciones a las que servimos.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Formar un consejo asesor de DREAM Legends (exalumnos) para que tengan mayor voz y poder en la organizaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lanzamiento <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wearedream.org\/es\/the-dream-teaching-fellowship\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La beca de ense\u00f1anza DREAM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que se centra en crear una cantera de profesores de las comunidades a las que servimos.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anualmente solicitamos la opini\u00f3n del personal sobre el impacto de nuestro trabajo en materia de DEI y nuestra cultura organizacional a trav\u00e9s de una encuesta sobre la experiencia del personal en DEI.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nuestro objetivo a largo plazo es que los adultos de nuestra comunidad puedan crear espacios realmente inclusivos donde los ni\u00f1os se sientan celebrados, vistos y cuidados. Por eso nuestra estrategia requiere que revisemos y actualicemos nuestros sistemas y pol\u00edticas, al mismo tiempo que impulsamos continuamente a los adultos de nuestra comunidad a reflexionar y crecer personalmente. Hacerlo garantiza que nuestra inversi\u00f3n en DEI est\u00e9 arraigada en nuestra cultura y en las decisiones que tomamos. Y ya estamos viendo que nuestra inversi\u00f3n y nuestro arduo trabajo dan frutos: en 2021, <\/span><b>79% de ascensos fueron obtenidos por empleados BIPOC; 73% de nuevas contrataciones identificadas como BIPOC; y 54% del equipo directivo de DREAM identificado como BIPOC.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, un aumento con respecto a los 40% del a\u00f1o anterior. Nuestro \u00e9nfasis en la contrataci\u00f3n basada en competencias y nuestros esfuerzos de divulgaci\u00f3n amplios y espec\u00edficos nos permitieron incorporar este a\u00f1o a miembros del equipo incre\u00edblemente inteligentes, calificados y diversos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mientras intentamos caminar con compasi\u00f3n, humildad y esperanza, nos comprometemos a escuchar y aceptar la gu\u00eda de las comunidades a las que servimos.
