Moneé Young
Middle School Principal
To lead a school community where every student, teacher, and leader feels empowered, inspired, and equipped to achieve their fullest potential—that is Monee Young’s vision. As Principal of Mott Haven Middle School, marking her second year at DREAM and her first year in this role, Monee is committed to fostering a culture that prioritizes academic excellence, emotional well-being, inclusivity, and a deep sense of belonging.
With over a decade of experience in education, Monee’s journey includes roles as a classroom teacher, Academic Dean, Assistant Principal and Principal in Residence. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded initiatives to improve instructional practices, enhance school culture, and promote equity within schools. She is particularly proud of her work in integrating social-emotional learning into the academic curriculum and mentoring emerging leaders in education.
Originally from Harlem, New York, Monee brings a deep-rooted passion for cultivating supportive and inspiring spaces where lifelong learning and compassionate leadership flourish. She strives to empower her school community to leave a lasting, positive impact on the world around them.

At DREAM, we believe that every child deserves a beautiful space to play, learn, and grow. DREAM Mott Haven Middle School is located at 20 Bruckner Boulevard, DREAM’s brand-new home, a state-of-the-art school located in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. At capacity, it will serve 1,300 Pre-K-12 DREAM scholars.
As core to our mission as it has been from day one, opportunities for play run throughout the new school, from the ground floor’s auxiliary gym to our rooftop playground. DREAM students are given the best spaces to learn, including a light-filled, cathedral-type library and a STEM quad featuring speciality classrooms and laboratories. The space is a physical manifestation of DREAM’s ambitions for its students.
